Having met the bubbly bride to be Lara at Westpoint wedding fayre last October we were really excited to be booked for her ultra laid back festival themed wedding at The Corn Barn in May. Not your traditional bride, vegan Lara didn't want any fuss, frill, waste or weddingey paraphernalia, just one big wild party with friends and family. No cake cutting, first dance, or group photos made it a dream day for us (hee hee) as did the spontaneous dancing and revelry from everyone singing the Beatles 'All you need is love' following the bonkers ceremony to the right cockney knees up dance session. Lara looked amazing in a wedding dress worn by her mum in 1969, modified and pimped with brooches, a beehive-ish hair do, flower head piece and 1960's eyes. The men were suitably dapper in braces, brogues and cravats.
A Devonshire cream tea replaced canapés served in beautiful vintage china. Wedding party transport involved tractor, trailer and wheel barrow and a tent was erected in homage to Lara's love of music festivals. The couple danced and sung their way into the barn for the street party style wedding breakfast and tables were named after favourite bands which were painted onto flower filled welly boots of course...!
On the hottest weekend of the year (so far) The Corn Barn was an idyllic setting for the party of the summer and the happy, crazy, loved-up Lara and Matt made it one to remember.
